the siege of jericho
The siege of jericho is now in full swing and tomorrow marks the final day for the Siege of Jericho walkers in Birmingham.
It’s been a glorious week weather wise for mid October and Our Lady has certainly shone down upon us!
The Mass before the procession is held each day at 3pm in the Shrine of the newly beatified John Henry Newman which is a great privilege and a blessing for Birmingham.
The Mass is followed by the siege of jericho walk around a local abortion centre in the company of the Blessed Sacrament with the recitation of five decades of the Rosary followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
the siege of jericho Ministry began in 2007 with the inspiration of a local nun
She had the idea, modelled on the original Siege of Jericho of praying in a particular way for:-
- the conversion of hearts of those engaged in abortion and in the abortion industry and
- the reinstatement of the dignity of the priesthood in the eyes of the faithful
There was to be intense prayer throughout the year and annually a seven day period of rosary processions with the Blessed Sacrament round a local abortion centre.
As the walls of Jericho came tumbling down so we pray that the walls enclosing the hardened hearts of those involved in abortion may yield to the promptings of Divine grace and human compassion.
